Zoals jullie weten zijn we al een hele tijd aan het zoeken naar een stukje grond waar we voor Daniël een martial art Sportschooltje kunnen opzetten zodat hij de straatkinderen weer les kan gaan geven in zelfverdediging zoals hij twee jaar geleden deed voordat zijn huisje en gym werd verwoest door een brand. In Januari dit jaar ben ik eindelijk in contact gekomen met de juiste mensen binnen de gemeente en nu 3 maanden later heb ik het goede nieuws gekregen dat mijn aanzoek is goedgekeurd en dat er 1000 m2 grond beschikbaar wordt gesteld voor het opzetten van een Sportschooltje en creatief centrum, dat is fantastisch. Er moeten nog vele stappen gezet worden voor er echt gebouwd kan gaan worden maar het begin is er en dat was de belangrijkste stap. De rest is protocol en zullen we moeten afhandelen maar het vooruitzicht is tenminste goed, eindelijk na een zoektocht van 2 jaar toch een plek en ook nog eens het stuk grond wat we voor ogen hadden en als nr 1 op onze wensenlijst stond. Een memorabel moment dus…dankbaar en blij 🙏🏻💜🙏🏾 😇4😇

RE: APPLICATION FOR LAND FOR DEVELOPING A COMMUNAL CREATIVE CENTRE AND TRAINING FACILITY IN ZONE 9, THEMBALETH
The above application refers.
At the Ordinary Council Meeting held on 28 April 2022 the following resolution was taken:
RESOLVED
(a) that the committee APPROVE the leasing of the portion of the public open space Erf 5890, Thembalethu (±1000m² in extent) situated in Qhawa Street, Thembalethu and;
i. that it be decided that the portion of the Public open space Erf 5890, Thembalethu (±1000m² in extent) situated in Qhawa Street, Thembalethu is not required by the municipality for the proposed period of the lease, and;
ii. that the lease of the property will be to the benefit of the local community;
iii. there are no risk associated to the lease;
iv. that the leasing of the property be considered in Public Interest.
(b) that the intention of the committee to lease the portion public open space Erf 5890, Thembalethu (±1000m² in extent) situated in Qhawa Street, Thembalethu , BE ADVERTISED for public comments and representations.
(c) that the leasing of a portion of the public open space Erf 5890, Thembalethu(±1000m² in extent) situated in Qhawa Street, Thembalethu to Angels4Angels for the development of a communal creative and training centre at a nominal amount of R20.00 plus VAT per annum for a period of nine (9) years and eleven (11) months, BE APPROVED subject to the following conditions:
